MangaChat — Light Up a Child’s Heart
💫 Our Campaign
Our goal is to raise $6,000 by helping children find hope and emotional strength through guided journaling and storytelling.
These include:
• Light Up a Child’s Heart — a giving campaign providing children access to the MangaChat platform from November 2025 to January 2026.
• Every $30 sponsorship gives one child access to MangaChat while supporting another through the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.
• A safe, digital space for children to learn about emotions, build gratitude, and express themselves freely.
• Inspiring emotional resilience and connection through the simple act of giving.
Each act of kindness through this campaign lights two hearts — one child gains tools for emotional well-being, while another receives the care and support to thrive.
💛 Story of Giving
At MangaChat, every story begins with heart. Co-founder Renee Chong, a former teacher and mother of two, has seen firsthand how many children struggle silently behind their smiles. She created MangaChat to give children a safe, guided space to understand and express their emotions through journaling and storytelling.
Through Light Up a Child’s Heart, MangaChat is partnering with 60 Lights, One Future to make emotional wellness accessible to all — proving that nurturing mental strength is just as vital as providing food or education. Each sponsorship not only supports a child’s emotional growth but also lights the way for another child through the Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.
🌱 Story of Hope
Aryan, 9, lives with his single father in a rental flat while his sister is cared for outside of the home. As an extraverted boy who is often alone and does not receive close guidance, he struggles in social settings, has had to face bullying and likewise struggles with appropriate expression and respectful communication to both his peers and adults. He also faces challenges in school, academically and otherwise, and has been labelled as a troublemaker.
Despite all that, at Young Hearts, we see Aryan slowly learning important life skills, including time management, self-regulation and finding socially appropriate ways to express himself. He now has healthier eating habits, is beginning to feel comfortable sharing his concerns with staff, expresses his opinions more confidently, and is forming friendships with his peers. Cheekily, he aspires to be a riddle master, a school discipline master, or a professional gamer.
