Beetle Buds — Small Insects, Big Impact

DONATE NOW. Your contribution goes directly to the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme to light a child’s future.

💫 Our Campaign

Our goal is to raise $6,000 through Small Insects, Big Impact — a one-day showcase where nature meets nurture, teaching families how caring for the smallest creatures can make the biggest difference.

These include:
• Hosting a full-day, hands-on insect discovery event at our nursery.
• Featuring rotating stations where children can meet mantises, rhinoceros beetles, stick insects, and isopods.
• Donating proceeds from ticket sales and on-site gifts to 60 Lights, One Future, supporting the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.
• Helping children grow confidence and curiosity through safe, guided experiences with native insects.

Every discovery becomes an act of giving — inspiring young minds to care for both nature and one another.

💛 Story of Giving

At Beetle Buds, curiosity leads to care. Co-founder Kenneth believes that close encounters with nature can shape empathy and awareness in children — lessons that extend far beyond the classroom.

Through Small Insects, Big Impact, Kenneth and his team are using their love for insects to support children through the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme. This campaign breaks down fear, nurtures wonder, and reminds us that even the smallest creatures — and gestures — can change the world.

As Kenneth says, “I want to give children the experience of learning about Singapore’s amazing biodiversity, so that together, we can protect the environment and our shared future.”

🌱 Story of Hope

Zaiful, 12, lives with his father, siblings and step-siblings in a three-room flat and has had to navigate several challenging major transitions within his family. As the oldest brother, he balances multiple responsibilities while managing various pressures from around. At Young Hearts, Zaiful has found a place where he feels welcomed and where he feels comfortable to share his challenges more openly while engaging in activities he enjoys.

He is also growing in confidence and experiences a sense of belonging to the Young Hearts community. As a bright, adventurous, and naturally curious boy, the programme supports him in exploring and expressing his interests. Zaiful aspires to be a teacher.
