Karen Yap — One Year, One Hope, One Child

DONATE NOW. Your contribution goes directly to the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme to light a child’s future.

💫 Our Campaign

Our goal is to raise $6,000 by transforming personal commitment into collective care — proving that one person’s decision to give can change a child’s future.

These include:
• Personally funding a full year of support for one child under the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.
• Encouraging others to begin with small, sustainable acts of generosity — one light, one year, one hope.
• Advocating for holistic support, covering nutrition, education, and emotional well-being.
• Using investment returns to create lasting social returns for children who need opportunities to grow.

At Kyrah & Song, giving is not about scale — it’s about sincerity. Every small action can ripple into something profound.

🤍 Story of Giving

For Karen Yap, giving begins with hope.

When she first learned that more than 100,000 children in Singapore live in underserved communities, she was shocked — and moved to act. As a working professional and investor, Karen decided to contribute her equity investment returns from October and November directly to the cause.

To her, 60 Lights, One Future represents a simple yet powerful idea: that change doesn’t have to start big. “One year, one child, one hope” became her guiding mantra.

Her story of giving reminds us that generosity doesn’t need to be complicated — it just needs to start.

🌱 Story of Hope

Oliver, 11, lives with his mother, younger brother and grandparents. He is close to his grandmother who helps as a caregiver for the boys as his mother takes on shift work to support the family. Bright, thoughtful, and resilient, Oliver approaches his neurodevelopmental challenges with optimism and courage. At Young Hearts, he enjoys participating in sports and excursions, which help him build confidence and a sense of belonging.

While Oliver struggles to adapt to the many changes and transitions in his family, with consistent mentorship, he is learning to communicate more effectively, navigate social interactions and express his thoughts more openly. He aspires to be a police officer and continues to develop socially and emotionally, embracing new opportunities to grow.
