Our goal is to raise $6,000 through Threads of Light — a campaign that weaves creativity, community, and compassion into every stitch.

These include:
• Hosting a Charity Auction featuring handcrafted creations.
• Donating proceeds from selected Yarning Hearts products.
• Collecting pledges from vendors at the Christmas Crafts Market @ The Plaza.
• Rallying the crafting community to make, share, and give — one stitch, one story, one light at a time.

At Yarning Hearts, crafting goes beyond creation. It’s about connection — turning small acts of love into something beautifully life-changing.

💛 Story of Giving

For Alex, founder of Yarning Hearts, crafting has always been a way to bring people together. Through Threads of Light, she’s inviting her community of makers to do what they love — for a cause that matters.

Inspired by the belief that “small stitches can come together to form something beautiful,” Alex is using her platform to unite crafters across Singapore to raise funds for the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts Programme.

Every handmade pouch, every skein of yarn, and every auction bid becomes part of a larger tapestry of kindness — proof that when people come together, small acts can weave a world of hope.

🌱 Story of Hope

Dahlia, 11, is the second of six siblings in a family of eight, living in a rental flat with her family. At home, she often has to help with chores and to care for her younger siblings. Naturally cheerful and energetic but not receiving much care or attention at home, Dahlia used to spend a lot of time at the playground. Since joining Young Hearts, she prefers to spend her time at the centre as she now has a safe space to relax and focus.

She has been observed to avoid academic work as she is not confident in her work and has not performed well across all her subjects. Through Young Hearts, she is learning the importance of remaining focused during classes and to use the time to improve on herself. Inspired by her mom, Dahlia aspires to be a cleaning professional or perhaps a kindergarten teacher.
